Is there any limit at the Bangkok money changers, Vasu or Super Rich, as to the amount of US dollars you can buy? Would their be any problem to just walk in and buy $15,000?

No, no problem, they may ask you to wait for a little while depending on the amount they have readily available. But 15000 shouldn't be a problem.

Super rich can handle that amount for sure but be sure to check the bills make sure they are in good condition as many places will not accept money with ink marks or tears.
