GentlemanJim
I am just waiting him to log on and ask "how much sin sot" to pay for the marriage. That's easy it's Preah Vihear Temple!
GentlemanJim
Similar marriages are also being arranged in Kings Landing too . Real life does imitate Game of Thrones. Now THAT is so observant. Now you mention it there really is a distinct similarity between the Shiniwatra's and the Lannisters. Game of Thrones will never be the same again
Popular Post Exsexyman
Very big of the Shinawatra's to allow this union. Imagine it, the champion of Thai democracy, well on the way to beatification, giving his blessing to the marriage of his niece to the son of a brutal dictator that came to power in the 1997 Cambodian coup. I realize there are good coups and bad coups, but still, very big of Thailand's first family. She's not marrying the son of a brutal dictator. Why is it so many people here cannot read? It's not that they cannot read, it's that they do not read. They see the word,' Shinawatra' in a headline and the red mist comes down. Off they go, typing furiously, the same tired old cliches day after day, week after week no matter how irrelevent to the topic under discussion. It is a source of great amusement to many of us on here!

I think a lot of people got mixed up because the TV newsletter email said it was Hun Sen's son. People read the headline but didn't read the whole article. centrala
Will getting married affect the bride Chayapa Wongsawat's musical career?Under her nickname "Cherry" she has made a few videos, like the song Dog O and it's chorus Love Me Love My Bosshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n_zKBg6tI4It would be a shame if the world was deprived of her unique talent were she to quit. The Cambodian press is generous is calling her "famous singer" But nevertheless, it does reveal that it is an arranged marriage: Good luck on your wedding night, Cherry. Chayapa Wongsawat, 29, is a lawyer and a famous singer in Thailand and her father Somchai Wongsawat was the former Prime Minister for Thailand. Her mother Yaowapa Wongsawat is a lawmaker representing Chiang Mai province. Chayapa Wongsawat is also a niece of Thailand Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra. Sing_Sling
What pussy needs his parents to ask someone else's if they can marry? Oh but of course he never intended it to come to this -- but being from a dictatorship they must comply. I might not have wealth from corruption like these dictators do, but I'm glad I have my freedom. It is common in some cultures. Prince Philip is hardly a pussy and he had to obtain permission to marry Princess Elizabeth. Well yes, but all the real men on here had to do was sling the future in-laws (who'd be younger than he is) a few bob for the twice married, tattooed blushing bride, mother of three . . . Same same, really Nothing wrong with etiquette and a bit of tradition

tomyummer
I just see this as a form of inbreeding. Not sure why, it just seems like it. Feels dirty. Two dysfunctional regimes marrying each other. Not exactly Britain marrying France.

paymaster
That will just create "the false image" that Thailand and Cambodia care for peaceful Prea Vinhear temple solution, .... but we all know that this battle will continue anyway... "Thaksin will not be attending the wedding or wishing the bride and groom well over Skype, Somchai said, adding that the ousted former PM had already blessed the couple in person earlier." Good way of saying Thaksin can't go cause he will be arrested! When did K Thaksin attain the power to bless the couple in person? This is different to giving his blessings-- so which is it? orchidlady
I think it's a shame they got married on Saturday. If they had waited a day they could have had all the red shirts attending as guests or outside the venue greeting them. Oh they wouldn't want to be inconvenienced on their special day would they? Interesting the Cambodian newspaper did not mention TS only his sister in the paper....what a slight
Carioca
While an old jaundiced hardass now, I still remember the true love of my youth. Its real, at least for the young. I give them the benefit of the doubt, that the families just had to deal with it.
