"oa"multiple Entry Question

Featured Replies

can somebody help me to be real sure?

i am retired;i have a non-immigrant visa;category "OA";multiple journeys

issued on 23/10/2012

utilize before 23/10/2013

can i enter thailand on 20/10/2013 and get an extension of 1 year without problems?

i don't want to have troubles when i enter, otherwise i take a new visum for 1 year;but "they" told me i can use my visa for another year.

i left thailand 2 times last year(i used my multiple entry)

thanks a lot

Yes with a Multi Entry Non Imm O-A Visa you can enter before 23-10-2013 and get another 12 months entry.

Just remember once the visa expires you will need re-entry permit for any return to keep last current stay alive.

What it means is that you will have a 1 year extension of stay when you return to Thailand before 23-10-2013. But you will need a re-entry permit each time you leave Thailand after that date.

I can confirm with a Multi Entry Non Imm O-A Visa you can enter before 23-10-2013 and get another 12 months entry. I have done it

Oops, I know a non-im -O- visa, but what is an -OA- visa?

I get me every year a non-im O w/ multiple entries in my home town, with each entry limited to 90 days. If I enter Thailand on the last day before my visa expires, I would only get another 90 days. Unless I go to Immigration and apply for an extension of stay for a whole year (which I have no legal basis for as I was told).

SamM.

The O-A is a long stay (retirement) visa issued to those over age 50 showing financials and medical and police check in country outside Thailand where they live. Each entry of the multi entry version gets a new one year stay from date of entry.

You make it sound like every time you leave you get a further 1 year which I dont think is true.

It is true.

During the one year validity of the O-A multi entry visa you receive a new one year permitted to stay from each entry date. So if you enter on the last day of validity you can still stay for another year (but any travel will require a re-entry permit to return on the same permitted to stay stamp time).

Just to clarify, in the OP's case, the last entry must be made before 23/10/2013, the date of expiration of the visa. Thus, the permission to stay could be as late as 22/10/2014 -- effectively getting two year's use out of one visa.

The devil made me do it.

OP, you still need to be doing 90 day reporting every 90 days (continuous) that you stay in Thailand.
