Commuter Trains Collide In Connecticut, At Least 20 Injured

<p>NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) -- Two New York area commuter trains collided on Friday injuring at least 20 people, officials said Friday.

</p>

<p>The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said the incident occurred on Friday evening at around 6:10 p.m. local time when an eastbound train derailed near the rail station in Fairfield, Connecticut, according to the New York Times.

</p>

<p>The train collided with an oncoming train on the adjacent track that was traveling westbound. As a result, between 20 to 25 people were injured, a Fairfield Police Department spokesperson told the media outlet.

<p>A number of the trains' cars also derailed, but no casualties were reported after the incident.
