News_Editor Posted May 18, 2013 Share Posted May 18, 2013 <p>NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) -- Two New York area commuter trains collided on Friday injuring at least 20 people, officials said Friday. </p> <p>The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said the incident occurred on Friday evening at around 6:10 p.m. local time when an eastbound train derailed near the rail station in Fairfield, Connecticut, according to the New York Times. </p> <p>The train collided with an oncoming train on the adjacent track that was traveling westbound. As a result, between 20 to 25 people were injured, a Fairfield Police Department spokesperson told the media outlet. </p> <p>A number of the trains' cars also derailed, but no casualties were reported after the incident. </p> <p> (Copyright 2013 by BNO News B.V.
