Easier To Get Thai Visa In Philippines Or Vietnam?

Featured Replies

I'm a US citizen taking a long trip starting this summer. I want to get a 60 day Thai tourist visa, but arrive in Thailand too long after I leave the US to get it here. I will be in both the Philippines and Vietnam within 90 days of arriving in Thailand. Which place would it be easier for me to get a tourist visa in?

According to most reports Vietnam would be the best choice. The embassy in Manila has been reported as not being friendly.

If you got a 2 entry visa in the states you would have 6 months to use the visa. It might be worth the extra cost to avoid having to deal with getting it during your travels.

I agree with that. Both times I was in HCMC the consulate was empty and I was in and out of there in minutes.

Yeah, that was always a problem for me, traveling before settling in Thailand for the cool season. No way round it.

Manila is generally a waste of time, but a fresh passport and you a fresh traveler might not have problems. Cebu is a possibility but hcmc is the go-to.

Philippines is a horrible choice anyway.

See you are touring fleshpots - great way to see the world.

Three or four years ago, the consulate in HCMC gave me a real hard time demanding to see my outbound tickets from Vietnam and also from Thailand. Don't know if that policy is still enforced.
