Options 4 Using Dtac Phone In Uk For Month

Featured Replies

I am going to the UK for a month and want to take my DTAC pay-as-you-go phone with me. What are the options i.e. can I keep my Thai phone number and turn roaming on? Or isn't that allowed with pay-as-you-go?

If I can't do that, will I have to buy a SIM in the UK? What are prices like?

Thanks,

I would not recommend roaming in any foreign country for more than a few days.

The costs are too high.

Buy a local SIM card when you arrive.

I was over last year and bought a card from Orange.

Sorry I cannot remember the cost, but their web site will help you.

Calls in the UK are expensive compared to Thailand, without adding roaming costs.

Thanks. But is roaming possible in the UK using DTAC pay-as-you-go card? I ask because my main use will be people messaging / beeping me, not talking for hours. If so, how do I set up roaming?

It is not a problem. Call 1678 before you leave Thailand in order to set up the service.

Thanks. As Astral said, very expensive to use roaming services. Probably best to buy a SIM when I get to the UK :o

Any recommendations for pay-as-you-go in UK? SIM Prices? Anybody sell them at Heathrow? :D
