somtampet
About time the area was cleaned up.HOW long will it last though. What about getting rid of the pervert old men that try to get laid for reduced fee also, they attract some of the undesirables too.The beach side of beach rd could be a beautiful place to walk at night but sadly the perves have reduced it to a red lit area

As I sit in bars on the other side of the beach, there are not really that many customers talking to the ladies. Also I've walked along the beach side many times and never been pestered. Same when I have sat there of an evening.

tinhead
They keep calling him a Frenchman but in fact, Iranian and just as much of a problem as the people that perpetrated the stabbing. People who smile, avoid confrontation and are generally amiable - even in the face of some of the Pattaya shenanigans, do not get stabbed.

WinnieTheKhwai
Now there is something I've never done: trawl beach road.. If the scene is going away though I do feel I need to check it out at least once. Potential issue: no beer for sale like in bars.. though I suppose if I give someone some baht they'll go get it for me (and for themselves) at a 7-11..? lemoncake
They have only found 30 "undesirables"?????? , perhaps those were the ones right out side the station and police could not be bothered to walk down much further

The piles of rubbish are more of an eyesore than a couple of overweight or gender-confused hookers. It's isn't lit red either, but tungsten and MH flood lights. DiNiro
Pattaya has two attractions. The beach is one of them. Make me the mayor and overnight there would be full time foot patrols, people picking up trash, a maintenance crew looking after the flower gardens & the scammers would be history.

stoli
I enjoy walking Beach Road on the beach side. I am not approached by the prostitutes unless I am stupid enough to inititate it. I have found that they never start the solicitation except for a smile.
