Current State Of Single And Double Tourist Visas In Vientienne / Savannakhet?

Featured Replies

I've searched a couple pages back, but seen nothing recent.

What's the current situation regarding tourist visas if you've already got several in your book? I've been in Thailand for 5 years, but haven't been on a tourist visa since early 2011.

Back in 2010 they were very strict when the visas were free.

Is it better/easier to go to Savanakhet as opposed to Vientienne?

Believe you are safe with less than a handful (five) but beyond that is iffy.

I have 4 tourist visa's from kl over the last 2 years with 15 day's border runs in between could I get another tourist visa in Laos or Cambodia???

It's not magic or rocket science. I'm asking whether there have been reports of many people being denied in Vientienne or Savanakhet. In 2010/11 the board was awash with people getting denied. I don't see much of that now, though I did see a recent one in Kuala Lumphur.

Also wondering if Savanakhet might be a better option than Vientienne....? And what about double-entries... Easy to come by? Or those getting turned down in favor of single...

last i heared about a month ago savannakhet only gives single for tourist visa , for non B or O you really have to get your paperwork in order and than still not clear if you can get a decent visa (1year multi ) i go there in august for a marriage visa (my second from there) so who knows

I got a double entry last month in Savannaket,I arrived in Thailand with a triple entry from the UK and it's my third double entry back to back there with no problems or no red stamp.I've always used the casino visa service but I don't think that makes any differance.

Hmmm, looks like I'm not the only one in similar predicament. Wonder about Vientienne same as Dirknirk.

Good to know Sawannakhet is a positive option. Thanks much Mfearon.

One of my friends was granted 3 consecutive double entry tourist visas during year 2012 in Vientiane, but was denied a fourth one.

In my passport, I have two tourist visas from the US, then three consecutive double entry visas from Vientiane. I was told by a local tout that next time I would have to bring a new passport in order to acquire another renewal stamp. It is his business to help tourists get their visas, thus he deals with consulate officials on a daily basis.

5 months ago I went to Savannakhet

I had 5 back to back to back ... tourist visas

They gave me my 6th

Note - For the 6th one I used the Savana Casino to do the leg work

It is a good option to use them, there is nada to to in Savanakhet

so a nice hotel room, good food and free transfers from borders is

all good

Lucky Lew how much does it cost to have the casino do the work for you?
