Do You Need A Wp To Own Shares In A Thai Co. Ltd?

Featured Replies

And if so , then how is that arranged, one must have a Thai employee for each foreign share holder?

Does it matter what the co business is? Like a development company as opposed to a restaurant?

If you are not doing ANY work for the company, then you don't need a work permit.

Nope not needed I have shares in companies, by law if u hold shares you are invited to share holder meetings - this is not requarded as work so no wp required

Agree, SET encourages investment from all-comers, no CGT, no tax of any kind except on dividends. No work permit necessary.

If you are merely a Shareholder - i.e. an Investor - in any Company then no Work Permit is required.

However if you are a Director or in a position to sign any Documents on behalf of the Company, even cheques, then officially a Work Permit is required.
