Thai Company Hiring Foreign Consultant For Short Work

Hi,

Just out of curiosity are there different rules regarding the need for a work permit if a Thai company want's to hire a foreign consultant for a short term contract. I would want to keep this on the legal side.

Temporary emergency work can get special 7 day visas and work permit.

Requirements involved and may be difficult depending on size of company.

Seems to be fairly easy for oil and gas contractors bringing in specialists to do emergency repairs on pipelines and rigs but a management consultant I think would be tougher I would think. A large company could probably do it, if it explained the reasons. Most people woudn't bother.
