Good morning all you grumpy old men....what shall we whinge about today????

I doing my Tax from 2011 ... really cuts down on my Thai Visa Time ...

Can't complain though ... only a few years ago I was doing the 2001 return ... and the Tax Dept. were always cordial with their responses to me ... but each year was a refund cheque ...

Everyday above ground is a good day.

So nothing to complain about really ... carry on ...

Good morning all you grumpy old men....what shall we whinge about today????

grumpy , who me? just went to transfer some land to a buyer today , got there art 9.30am and after the usual talk and getting a ticket we sat down .Our ticket number was 91, I looked at the ticket counter system ad they were seeing number 28 !!

so we waited and waited , after 6 hours we finally got to the desk to do the transaction and pay transfer fees. I was told that we had to pay another 3% tax because we had not owned the land for more than 5 years!!! after the money was paid we thought good we can go soon as they just had to check the paperwork and see if the documents were sighed, easy done ?...sh*t no!!!!we waited another 90 minutes before we got the papers back . am I grumpy hell yes...next story will be about the private hospital up north who uses a fan to dry their x rays ....oh well tomorrow is another day

We're grumpy 'cause we've been there done that and learnt from our mistakes.

When I retired here I thought I left all the incompetent people behind me.

The main irrigation pipe in our village that supplies water for all the farmers here ruptured a month ago and was fixed just the other day. Then the people involved with the fixing, turned the water back on full bore....the pipe is 600mm diameter.....result, the sudden pressure ruptured the pipe again. So we have to wait another month for it to be fixed again.

....and you wonder why we are grumpy?

I'm grumpy today because last night I had a guy and his wife come into my restaurant and attempt to blackmail me into taking pork of my menu and to start selling halal meat only.

He told me that if we didn't start doing so, he would be advising his 'community' to shop elsewhere. I reminded him that, as this was the first time I'd ever seen him or anyone from his community, his custom would not be missed anyway.

I don't have a racist bone in my body but I refuse to have the ins/outs or viabilility of my business dictated by one particular group.

I don't know if I'm right or wrong but I do know I've been stewing over it all morning.

PS, Don't take the thread in a different direction - I'm just having a grumpy rant.

Huh...I am a bit grumpy today....bought a new pair of shorts yesterday, bent over to tie some rebar together at lunchtime and rippppped the crutch clean out of them. had to pay 90baht for them too....they dont make them like they ised to.

tutsi was down on the Champs d'Elysees buying pimp clothing fer his lad and that included a trip to the nike store where he got some pimp trainers and tutsi snorted in disgusto...and then we went back out to the boulevard where it was rainin' and then tutsi's 10 year old trainers disintegrated, right in front of the nike store...

so's we goes back in fer me to get some 'air' shoes...I hadta be able to at least get back to the accommodation...and they barely covered my gnarled diabetic feet...

then yesterday as I was walkin' to de talat them new trainers was floppin' all over the place and the vendor women were laughin' like crazy...and I shook me fist and yelled: 'I got diabetes and high blood pressure!!! what do youse got???!!!...'

In Phuket we have a public voice for the grumpy old men. We meet twice a month for a few beers, a bit of a yarn, a few grumps, raise money & help out those less fortunate than ourselves. It's a good crack & everyone enjoys it although sometimes not easy to get grumps as most are pretty content with their lives. Perhaps you other grumpy old men should try a similar setup elsewhere. BTW our only qualification is you need to be male & grumpy on occasion as old is in the eye of the beholder. not so grumpy today , got my Alpine navigator fixed and all is good now , cannot get lost anymore , happy man today , paid big money for it and crashed 8 months later ...not happy jan

Friday was a bad day. Nothing went right. I was getting grumpy.

Oops!! BAD idea.

The majority of the music was enough to send you to sleep. Some drunken Thai bird decided she would hog the microphone for a while and she sang screeched like sh*t too. The music then got slower.

Boring. Some of us booed.

Went home. 2 m/c. One for me and one for her.

Her m/c took off and mine must have been a 30cc or something. Then the driver decided to go his way and I had to redirect him. Got to the house eventually.

Somehow the back wheel of the sliding gate had come off. I don't know if the g/f did it when she opened up, or someone else - maybe trying to get in. A 9 foot long, 6 foot high steel gate, several beers and at 2 a.m. trying to lift the gate back onto the runner.

Now I was real grumpy!

Not really grumpy today...But...that stupid TOT came to fix the internet wiring...now works 10 mins per day instead of nothing for a week or so....
