Yeah let's get rid of all the non-paying people everywhere, especially the kids.

Let's make Thailand a place where you have to pay for everything.

Breathing is still free but bad quality, Chinese are selling oxygen fresh air in cans, lets all breath through those, and nevermind the poor who can't afford it!

Let's poison the food and just leave a fraction of it non poisoned for the rich who can afford it! Oh wait ! It's already happening !

at 16.30 the kids should be at home doing there home work , then they can find a job after leaving school that pays enough to eat in the places they only used to bum about in ....

As it is, Thailand invokes the use of the word "should" more than any other nation on earth, and possibly the entire Solar System, throughout all human history.

Should!...

HA!

Our bill was over 10 dollars for two cold hamburgers and bitter coffee.

I love cold hamburgers and will settle premium for bitter coffee.

What additional service do you require from McDonald's?

May he and the rest of his miserable family suffer for the rest of their hopefully short life and die in endless pain!

The most tight fisted company I've ever had the misfortune to work with.

As a guest at one of their headquarters I was expected to pay for a bottle of water, my stunned expression was seen my my host who jumped in to pay for my one small bottle of water.

What time of the day was it?Maybe they should have been in school?

I've had it happen before, more in the Philippines with women grabbing chairs before you and purchasing nothing but I'm the sort to go and demand the staff tell her I need the seat as I'm a paying customer.

Either that or ask her if she is going to buy anything but they always lie anyway there!

If you ever argue with a Filipino, you may aready be experiencing the consequencies of eating MacS%&t or K"F"C. Watch out before you're beyond any help. Good old cop, only trying to save lives. The Nobel Price for services to mankind goes to him!!

I got thrown out of Denny's once.

I had bent all the cutlery on the table at 90 degrees, and then complained about the bent cutlery.

Not only did I not receive the Grand Slam Breakfast I had ordered, the Store Manager made me bend all the cutlery back again before I was escorted out.

Childish, I'll admit, but things take on a different perspective of funny when you are drunk and stupid at 3am.

yeah mate real funny u deserved a smack in the mouth as well ...not joking ....clowns like u ..well ...remind me of the turds that put sugar in the salt and vice versa ...martin bryant was kicked out of the kookaburra cafe because of that ...and came back a week later and massacred 33 people ....good on maccas for ejecting non paying customers or seat occupiers ...bottom line ...these r businesses....

Man, they gotta open a Denny's Pattaya.

I thought the stuff in 7/11 was the same as Denny's. ???

What is Denny's then?It sounds like an "Aaayyyyy",Fonz-style American-Italian pizza and pasta place?

You must have a bloody big chip on your shoulder - still it makes you good at making a drama out of a crisis!

For sure get rid of all non paying people. The air is free in your own home or public places - otherwise it comes under the domain of business such as McD's. They pay the rent, they cover the overheads, they take the investment risk - they are entitled to set the rules. If that includes clearing out non-paying kids who are just there to play on their iPads then I 100% support the policy of kicking them out.

Get over yourself!

Yeah that way at the Golden Arch we will see self righteous paying old farts who don't even have the excuse of youth for not knowing any better to have such ad taste in food !

Oh I have a video for you, you will love that man; Nestlé's CEO :He wants to make water not a human right, nice man !

Enjoy finding your new model ! wink.png

Man is the only creature on earth that pays to live on his own planet!

Actually I hope this catches on here in Thailand and they extend it to tourists and expats living here with no money. It is the country of Thailand, they own the building, they pay the rent, they are taking all the investment risks and they are entitled to set the rules. Throw all non paying expats out I say. No more free loaders.

Another honor student in economics. One of the elite few who believes that business owners don't really invest their money & time to compete & prosper, as common sense would suggest, but rather for the benefit of freeloaders. So tell us Sensei: if not to break even and survive in the business world, why DO these business owners sacrifice their time & money? Why IS there a Macdonald's, or a KFC, or a ____________, if not to sell something (and hopefully make a living)? Oh, BTW, I'd like my house cleaned and my car washed. Every day. You'll do that for me, for free of course, won't you?

Yeah poor little Ronnie Mc Donald, his shareholders are only Dividend Aristocrats (ie 25 years of increase )

Ronnie is also so good to animals that he butchers chicken with cruelty like no one else before.

Ronnie is a clown but he's only aimed at paying pensioners, definitely not trying to get children in his restaurant and trapped their uneducated taste into a life of transfat and fast sugar, getting them obese.

And noooo Mc Donald never advertise to get children in its restaurant

Why do they need the police to evict "free seaters"?

Can't staff and management grow some balls and throw them out by themselves?

You haven't been here very long it seems. coffee1.gif

Ahh Transam, yet another one of your egotistical nothing comments. Do you really hate life that badly?

He is right though... Thais dont like confrontation so without guidelines they would not do it.

Clearly you don't understand that Mc Donalds is a franchise, so that the company Mc Donalds is making nice money does not mean the Mc Donalds in Thailand is making a lot of money with people hogging the seats. They might actually loose money but still have to pay Mc Donalds. So your dividend theory is blown out of the water.

As for it being a bad restaurant, I would not be caught dead there as its real unhealthy crap without much taste but I do recognize that companies are there to try to make a profit. So its perfectly understandable, if you want to protest protest with the government not putting up libraries and other places kids want to go to study.

No let's be more accurate. Thailand is a hierarchal-based society. No way a low-wage server or manager will be able to confront a hi-so univ student. Actually it's more than confront...it's throw out. Ooh yea that's not good.

It would also be bad PR for McDs should a conflict arise, say with an accompanying youtube video. I wouldn't be surprised if corporate tells them to call the police. Big corps think of all angles.

Granted that is even more accurate, though assuming that the uni students are Hi So is a bit over the top. Most are not the Hi So ones would go to other places.

Yea that's true too most of the time. But I'm sure they would rather error on the safe side.

Didn't McDonalds bring in some new rule lately about only being able to stay for a maximum of 1 hour after purchasing food ?

They have many rules in Thailand that are not enforced.

Can you really see Thai staff confronting other Thais over the time spent in the restaurant ?

I was confronted by a Thai manager of a Starbucks for not making a "second purchase" because apparently it wasn't enough that I'd been there just a few hours earlier and bought / finished my drink (as well as having been a customer almost every week day for the past 6 months). I found THAT very rude. As was mentioned here already there are likely at least a few Thais at tables there who haven't bought anything. I didnt seem them telling anyone else that but me...the one farang that was there.

Studying rewarded by good paying jobs ?

That would be a first here !

They just have to grass the right person to become a cop (zero study) in their turn and earn more in extortion/blackmail than a doctor (7 years+)

as long as the kids did not come back and lob in a hand grenade and blow the place to bits, this happened to an internet cafe in pattaya around 12 years ago , i was staying 2 doors away.

In places like MBK, where you cannot get seats in places like Burger King and McDonalds because kids are studying ages after they have finished, it is a huge irritation.

An irritation or a sign that you should know better at your age than clogging your arteries with fast sugar and transfat ?

Yes also a great reminder of that! I actually only ever visit McDonalds when friends decide to go (Thais love McDonalds for some reason) or when I simply cannot find anything that I can eat, which is very rare in Thailand. Sukhumvit at 4am is the only example I can think of, when I do not want to pay company to the hordes of incomprehensible foreigners and dodgey ladyboy street walkers.

I also make use of the McDonalds toilets as they are the cleanest in Sukhumvit, so sometimes will buy a meal for a few friends I have made over the years whom either work on the street at some capacity as beggars or "night workers" or have late finishing work in the area. It is quite amusing the things you will see in the lines of the Sukhumvit McDonalds at that time, believe me.. even seen guys try to order a burger without cash in their pockets they were so drunk! :) But you are completely right, I should not be eating Maccy D's and do make a conscious effort to enjoy the real food which can be found on many street corners.

Just FYI... in Belgium the FNAC is a reputed bookstore. A lot of people go there and read comics or books for free. Instead of chasing them away, the management accepted as part of the symbol that was FNAC for access to culture. I admired that, and after my penniless student years, I bought my books there.

Accepting non-paying people is also a long-term way of keeping customers and making your shop a place with positive memories.

Actually I could but the first warning wouldn't come with a manager screaming at the kids, but more along the lines of: "you need to buy something here, otherwise we can't let you stay here any longer."

Good ! About time, can't sit down due to people not buying anything.

Can we do the same with all the people who think petrol stations are just for free toilets and parking ?

If I find myself with a full tank and bladder I'll park and use the toilet.

I'll buy fuel from them when I need it.

I think the secret is to coordinate your tanks !

When yours needs discharging make sure the fuel tank needs filling. smile.png

I hope you're not suggesting he should pee in the tank?

I think he's the guy who bought a drink, left and came back some hours later to abuse their facilities. (Well that seems to be what he said)..

Meanwhile someone suggested that Thais love McDonalds- I have to disagree. Outside of Bkk and tourist spots you'll be hard pushed to find one. Even the one in the 'farang' slum, Kanchanaburi closed down quite some years ago. (Many Thais don't eat beef of course).

For the record the first time I was ever kicked out of a MaccyDs was at the bottom of Wimbledon Hill in about '83-4. Same reason- not buying enough and being a pain in the arse bunch of kids.

If I was caught on Suk at 4am I would definitely go for subway over McD's
