Lamborghini Crash Survivor: Amulet Saved My Life

Recommended Posts

I see the haters are out in full force on this thread. Anybody know this guy? Ever met him? No? Thought so.

He thinks an AMULET helped him survive a CAR CRASH!

Want to met him?

No way!

I suppose NONE of your Thai friends believe in amulets then. Oh, that is if you have any.
Well I would advise anyone to avoid driving with anyone who believes that their amulet will protect them?

I wonder do these amulets come in family coverage versions? One for wife and kids also..... Or is it, limited to the possessor only. I mean damn. Logically, emotionally or spiritually, why would any Thai let him drive them anywhere?

He is convinced he is bullet proof....

Change your handle thai at heart or change your heart.

Well, been here long enough to get it, but not get it.

When i had been here for about 6 months was out for a business dinner up country and a big local pooyai walked in, who's son is now a ptp mp. The Thai Thai/ Chinese company management made their apologies and promptly left the restaurant.

Why? About 15 years previously, this man had been part of a very large hit job. 9 people in the restaurant died, the pooyai was hit 6 times and didn't die.

So don't think I comment out of ignorance. Many Thais will see this to mean that this guy is invulnerable, maybe himself included.

I would have been insulted if I was a crash and safety engineer at Lamborghini. But seriously how does a person crash an Aventador with some of the most advanced stability systems in any car on a straight road. The only reason I can see is that he was driving at well over 200 km/h and was switching lanes like a maniac. I know his mind wasn't in the right place because his father had just died but maybe he shouldn't have been driving the way he was. Amulet or not at least he made it out alive and I hope this goes to show that speed is dangerous even in a 34 million baht car.

You think a car would have that little damage if it crashed at 200kph and that he managed to avoid every other car on a busy stretch of road while losing control at 200 kph ?

Check out the video on #194 of this thread, read (again) #277, and get back to me if you think you have a convincing argument that you are less of a tw** than the guy who bent his Lamborghini in Chonburi.

Well. Been here long enough....and spent sufficient time in China too.

I have an intense dislike of China and its lack of faith.

Faith? Western concept surely?

Possibly. But I think you know what I'm talking about.

He was turning on that video and that has nothing to do with this crash as you can see from the picture that it seemed to be a straight road that he lost control on. Either there was something seriously faulty with the car or he was not driving it properly. And if he wasn't going at such high speeds but lower speeds as you pointed out to me then how can someone lose control of a car with such good stability control, this is an Aventador and Lamborghini has vastly improved the handling capabilities as compared to the Gallardo in the video. And as I mentioned his father had just died and his mind was probably in the wrong place to be driving such a car at what seems to be at high speeds. And the damage may not have been that bad because he hit the poles which came out of the ground and did not absorb all of the force as compared to when you hit a hard target that does not move the damage will of course be much more severe. He would have braked as well when he lost control of the car and he would have slowed down, just because he lost control due to high speeds does not mean the crash occurred at a high speed.

He said he was wearing Great Garuda amulet, surrounded by tiny diamonds, at the time of the accident, which he believed contributed to his miraculous survival cheesy.gif

From the looks of the car I would hardly say he was lucky to survive.

Probably the amulet got him the MD job too...........and every night he is singing the Beatles golden oldie: "I'm a believer!"

If I were a betting man, I would put a sizable bet on this man not living to the average life span of the Thai general population.

The amulat and a rabbits foot are seen to bring luck to their owners, but Nature and the casinos seem to end up the ultimate winners, in both life and gambling.

If nothing else, this article goes to show that...

There is absolutely no correlation between WEALTH, INTELLIGENCE and COMMON SENSE in Thailand.

I rest my case :D

Comment on this forum tend to show that there seems to be a correlation between Cheap farangs, envy and bitterness in Thailand...

He's got the amulet, the Lambo, the high paying job and most likely a few super model type girlfriends....

I'd like to get me a Great Garuda amulet. Might just be something to that.

700 bhp, rear wheel drive , wide tyres, minimal ground clearance, Thai roads, Thai downpour. Do you really think he was driving at 200 kph or do you think it was more to do with the preceeding factors ?

Envy noooooooooo, BUT we are all different. Can't say I have ever been envious of any one. Cash doesn't always provide what you really want.

For instance, bit of fun, my old street yank car BEAT a Lambo and Ferrari on the drag strip. Sure this pissed off the big spenders but the Ferrari guy gave me the thumbs up, cool. thumbsup.gif

I'm hoping he's a heavy duty Thai gangster who mixes it with Chinese Triads.

So long as he gives big wedges to the PTP that is. (Joke not criticism.)

Good luck to him. Hope the funeral went well.

OK in a straight line transam, but come to a corner......

Oops...just lost the rear end on a straight road in Chonburi.

Enjoy.

The amulet ? Nothing to do with modern advanced car design and crash structures then?

Unless the Amulet had an air bag stuffed into it, we all (except the gullible) know that the cars airbag(s) would have been the reason to prevent injury.

I take it Richard Dawkins will not be invited to lecture in Thailand anytime soon? 'Ah, I see: It was the amulet. How foolish of me. Please allow me to crawl back into my hole'...

A bit funny to see so many posters bashing the driver with its stupid amulet. They don't realize that exactly the same level of stupidity is attained daily in USA by dozens of millions of believers who "pray for xxx recovery" or "pray for the soldiers safety" or pray for that... But curiously I've never heard anyone ridicule those futile prayers a tenth of what is going on on this thread...

Hope he reads this and realises how stupid he's been!

Yeah he'll never get anywhere in life until he does.

Hey, hold on a minute. I ridicule those twits just as harshly. However, this is THAI Visa and buddhist superstitions and nonsense are always going to be far more prevalent in this part of the world.

The guy may have simply had the wrong tire pressure or uneven pressure.

Thai's are notorious for their bad maintenance of vehicles like seldom changing the oil in favor of mag wheels and low flow exhaust systems.

A supercar is not unlike a fighter jet in that it requires attention to details.

I'm jealous of anyone who can afford such a wonderful car. I wish I could, I would like to think that I could be respectful enough of such a machine to learn how to drive it. That said, a public road is not exactly the place to test the extremes of such a car in the first place.

A bit of rain, straight road.... I'm wondering if something failed on the car. i.e. one of those super cars that have been imported in parts and reassembled here to avoid the high taxation. Could it be that something wasn't put back together quite right ?
