I moved from Pattaya to Bangkok in December.

I had my 90 day done in BKK twice in the last half year. During that time my US Passport expired and was replaced with a new one and the Embassy letter asking to put new visa stamps in the new passport.

BKK Immigration refused and said only JOMTIEN Immigration could do it because I lived in Pattaya last year when I did my retirement visa. Even though I did two 90 day check ins and showed my new BKK lease.

I think this suckkkkks making me travel all that way to update a stupid stamp.

Any help????

Is this the rule or a shakedown?

The problem might be that while your file is online, there is also the real paper file, which for your old passport and extension of stay is in Jomtiem. When you apply for the transfer, they normally also update the paper file and put their stamps and signatures in that one, to give you the rest of your extension of stay.

With a completely new extension of stay it should not be a problem. But the transfer is.

Does this statement demonstrate an attitude problem ?

Sure it will go down a treat with immigration...wink.png

But certainly isnt a shakedown...typically when moving stamps to a new PP you need to go the office who issued your current "stamp"..which in this case appears to be Jomtien, 90 day reports are somewhat irrelevant in this case....I do my 90 day report at Maptuphut, but my extension is issued at BKK immigration and had to go to BKK to get my stamps moved to a new PP, Maptuphut wouldnt touch it
