Apec Card And Overland Crossing

Featured Replies

Greetings ALL_

So three questions on APEC CARDS and MULTIPLE ENTRY requirements:

1) Can I do Back to back 90day APEC CARD visa entries for Thailand?

2) Overland crossing, will they accept an APEC CARD?

3) Where would the best boarder crossing be relative to Bangkok with knowledgeable immigration staff?

Appreciate any input :-)

My understanding is that the card is only excepted at airports

And my understanding is that, from thailand, it's only issued to thai citizens.

1 - Though it is stated that the card is not intended for long term stays in any one member country, their is no specific rule regarding back to back entries to Thailand. So the answer is yes.

2 - Yes the ABTC can be used at any border post to enter Thailand.

3 - Poipet/Arayaprathet is the closest international border crossing to Bangkok. It is a fairly major crossing so I doubt you would have any problems with immigration not knowing the rules.

D__K,

Thanks, appreciate your comments. Looks like i will try Poipet/Arayaprathet then.

Cheers;-)

It is still possible to apply via your home country, if you meet the criteria.

HK is the only territory that I know that accepts applications from all nationalities who are resident there.

Thai nationals of course are eligible to apply in Thailand, but only if they work for a firm which i a member of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

I applied in my home country of NZ, and you just get them to mail it to you where ever you are. Takes about 4 months all up for screening and clearance. The perquisite is you have to have an established business (which means it’s been registered in whatever country for a minimum of a year and you will likely be paying some tax ). They are fairly straight forward to get, as long as your a respectable business owner Thai/ Farang willing to fill out the paper work, and of course your intending to do business in what ever country.
