Probably a stupid question, but cant recall doing a bankers draft before, if getting a bankers draft for a settlement visa at the bank in Regents House, do you have to pay for it in cash (eg you cannot give the bank a debit or credit card for them to produce the draft)

Just wanted to clarify so I know whether the wife needs to walk around with 39000 bt in cash on her!

I do not remember it being anything but a bankers draft, you certainly cannot pay by cash or credit/debit card at the VFS Centre.

Your wife can get a draft at any stage, from any bank, she doesn't need to do it in Regent House, remember at listed Bank of Ayudhya branches there is no bank fee for the draft, I don't know if the banks will take credit or debit cards but I doubt it.

Keep an eye on the fee, the UKBA's current rate is 46 Baht to the GBP and with the weakening of the Baht, it's currently over 47, they will adjust their rate sooner rather than later.
