My 1 year visa extension for retirement expires June 23rd, a Sunday.

I had planned on going in on the 20th for my next (7th) extension.

When I went on-line yesterday to make an appointment at US citizens services for my income statement the next 2 weeks were blocked out. the earliest I can get an appointment is Monday June 24th. What is the best way to handle this?

You have had a month to do this. Why wait until the last minute?

If you can get to Immigration on 24th with all the paperwork you should be ok.

Make the appointment on 24th and check each day to see if any become available before then. As said 24 should be OK if you visit Immigration that day.

Bangkok. and I just checked again, still full. I thought the letter had to be less than 15 days old but that is no excuse for not checking sooner.

My bad, it seems it was never this busy in the past.

This is another good reason why that 15 day income letter verification system would never have worked. I would go to immigrations before your extension of stay expires and see if they will extend it for a few days.

If you can get on a bus tonight, you can go to the ACS Outreach visit in Khon Kaen tomorrow morning from 0800-1200.

You can get the letter there with no appointment.

I called the American Citizens Services office and explained my situation and they were able to give me an earlier appointment.

I wouldn't rely on this and I will in future make any appointments much earlier than 2 weeks ahead.

Just thought some might like to know.

You can normally only get the current month and the next month. Just checked and can only get one as late as the first two days of August.

Made mine for July on the first of this month.
