So thanks to George for keeping it going, sure it's a business but we all know how easy it is to screw it up and let it go down the tubes

How many years now sure some of us might chafe under how the rules are enforced sometimes (thin ice here!) but all in all he must be doing something right. . .

Pretty impressive.

I would need about 1-1/2 yr to rack up this number of posts.

100% agree with the OP!

I used to be a poor man but since I started reading Thai Visa I've married a Hi-So Thai-Chinese model,I'm now a multi-millionaire and have just signed up for active and covert ops with a Special Forces Unit!

Same same here.

Doctor, Doctor I think I'm suffering from deja vu!
- Didn't I see you yesterday?

Or did I tell that one already?

I think I'm suffering from amnesia and deja vu at the same time here. . .

Posting on TV is like seeing Groundhog Day over and over again!

Yes I love it when people say "you are so wrong you must not be living in Thailand".

It's true, we're not living in the same Thailand, we all live in the reality we create for ourselves, "who you be determines what you see".

It is in most cases a lifeline of information for people. The ever changing rules and the "army" of foot soldiers out there that provide real time updates is indispensable. As for the category of general topics, it is most entertaining. I get an absolute kick out of some posters like -pigeonjake- whose input into a post always makes it more entertaining for me. There are many others like "him/her" (although I am sure "he" is a he, you can never tell in the virtual world) on here that add to my enjoyment: steelcowboy, villagefarang, david48, rene123 and many, many others.

However I am curious and do hope this is not overstepping the rules of what is or what is not allowed. But could someone enlighten me as to this whole being banned and then coming back as somebody else. It appears that due to repeated abuse of the rules posters receive "bans" and are removed. However it seems to be implied that they return under another identity. I realize it is an anonymous forum and you could keep creating a new name for yourself but does that not take away from the whole purpose of this forum?

So I add my thanks for both the wealth of information provided here and the "free" entertainment.....now back to the Isaan Forum and reality!!

Besides the most important lese majesty rule, another key one is "No discussion of moderation".

They have their guidelines on how to enforce the rules, if every one were enforced too rigidly there'd be very little activity and thus no ad revenue and thus no more TV.com

And I think there should be another rule, even if unwritten.

How about not taking these posts as personal or too seriously.

For me Thai visa is a facility for obtaining news, information and consider the forum discussions as a bit of fun, plus of course as a means of making contact with my peers, meaning other expats living in Thailand.

I may agree or disagree with some points posters make, and can throw back anything some posters may throw at me. No one on here could ever upset my feelings, because it`s only a forum or in other words, I do have a life outside of my online activities.

Oh, do keep up will you! You ain't there yet until you divorce the hi-so, sell the farm, retire from the SAS, invest everything in high-yield bonds, buy a moped, and teach English "for free" in the boonies.

TV is a great source of info - from some. From others it's just a trolling flame-fest.

I'm very grateful to the few that helped me over the years with various things.

Shame there are still some that can't accept that if something doesn't happen for/to them, it can't happen for/to anyone else.

You forgot the entertainment value of the forums. It's much like the bar scene from the original Star Wars.

My take for a more enjoyable TV experience:

Ignore the negative as much as possible. .

A neutral comment is positive.

A positive comment is a like.

Spend more time on FB.

A bit like women logic meme on the interweb.

I'm not a 'Star Wars' fan, so wouldn't know about the bar scene. For the record - I don't bother with Star Trek, either.

However, yes - they can be entertaining.

One of the best ones for me was the list of how TWs behaved in their new host countries.

Or the 'Thai Logic' cartoon from The Pattaya Mail in 2006 (Life in Fun City - MJB)

"Darling, don't get upset, I will try to explain Thai logic but I'm sure your brain will explode."

Keep up the great 'toons MJB - I appreciate them immensely.
