Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

Has anyone been asked for medical certificate when renewing retirement visa in the last month?

There has never been a requirement to show a medical certificate when renewing your extension of stay based on retirement.

Moved to the visa forum.

Over the years, there have been reports here of a few outlier provincial offices demanding a medical form for retirement extensions. A form IS needed when applying for an O-A visa in your home country, but as said, there is no legal requirement for any medical form for retirement extensions IN Thailand. If I recall correctly, Sri Racha office was one such office applying eccentric enforcement in this area.

The OP might mention his local office.

The OP posted in the Samui forum.

Not needed there.

Not asked for at Nakhon Sawan immigration last week.

Indeed a medical was a requirement for retirement extension of stay in Bangkok about a decade ago. Has not been since and did mine again today. Required in Bangkok TM.7 with photo and fee of 1,900 baht. Embassy letter of income and copies of passport data/visa transfer data/extensions of stay and departure card.

I used to have to provide one on my retirement visa, but that is more than 10 years ago now. I was even told that the certificate from Samui International Hospital wasn't acceptable, and I had to get a second one from the Nathon government hospital. As far as I know, they stopped asking here on Samui quite a while ago.
