DPM asking southern insurgents to reduce violence during Ramadan

BANGKOK, 3 July 2013 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok is asking insurgents in the three southernmost provinces to tone down violence during the holy month of Ramadan, while assuring that the government has strict measures in place to protect residents in the Deep South.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has put him in charge of overseeing security affairs in the restive south. Complying with the order, he will immediately order security measures to be beefed up during the holy month of Ramadan to ensure maximum safety for both Buddhists and Muslims during the month of fasting, which begins on July 9th and ends on August 7th.

The deputy prime minister has also asked the insurgents to tone down violence in the area during the holy month. In order to facilitate the completion of religious obligation of the fasting for pilgrims as well as the locals, security check points will be set up only in risk-prone areas. He has finally assured people in the Deep South of their safety, saying all officers are there to help protect them.

The DPM is talking to the devil, therefore the request will be looked at with distain, people who belong to the insurgent movement will do what they want, when they want , the DPM is a nobody, as far as the insurgents are concerned, all of the PTP administration are a lot of nobody's in the minds of a terrorist.bah.gif

If the government follows the request of the terrorist, it will give the terrorist time to rearm and regroup. I have been there before and have seem what happens when governments relax. If you relax you vigilance people die. ph34r.pngph34r.png

Yep that's the, way ask them nicely to stop killing and they will then come and ask when they can bomb and shoot.

Isn't he supposed to be a retired general of something, what part of the army was he in the catering corp.

"Oh, Pleeeease don't bomb us and shoot us in July, It's not fair. We know we have armies and there are probably only around 200 of you but please, don't shoot at us and bomb us, give us a break"

Or

"During the month of Ramadan we intend to triple the armies efforts to capture the terrorists. If they are religious they will be fasting and weakened. We know who they are, we know where they live and we intend to have the lot of them in Jail or in a box - their choice, in the next two months. Happy Ramadan" Internment almost worked in Northern Ireland, but for the hunger strikers. Nobody will give a toss here about hunger strikers, intern them.

It's hard to believe this is a DPM, a retired military man, who is talking to people who have shown no regard for human life previously.

The BRN wants a Ramadan truce on their terms which is ridiculous and they have a cover story if violence continues that it " was outside their control ".

The violence will continue, the insurgents will re-group and re-supply and the government will come out with some complete crap about it. Meanwhile the PM, Defence Minister and Chairwoman of the Rice Committee will have her nose buried in a map of the world thinking " where to next " ?
