Bench Power Outlets For Kitchen

Featured Replies

There are two places in our new kitchen where there it's not practical to install a power outlet in the wall. I'm looking for a solution like these (but nicer if possible) to take a Panasonic Full Colour Wide double outlet.

Anyone seen something like this in LOS (or better still, Chiang Mai)?

I haven't seen those here, but haven't looked recently. When I built my house, 14 years ago, I built something similar out of plywood and used them under my kitchen cabinets. I painted them the same color as the cabinets. I also made the cabinets so it was a minor project.

I don't have upper cabinets in the this area so it has to be something that will fit in the corner between the bench and the wall. Making them is the last resort!

I must admit i was going to suggest getting your local woodworking chap to knock up a few hardwood ones to match the cabinets.

Got to look better than those lab outlets :)

I'm guessing the wall has already been finished so grinding in some channels for conduit and a back-box isn't feasible?

I have never seen the angled blocks you seek - I think the best you're going to find is a standard rectangular block, which ought to achieve the same end result, just not as pretty.

Assuming you're planning on running the wiring for these inside the cabinets?

want you want is popups!

Thanks, I've seen these but I think the pop up element is a (nice) gimmick. I can see these being left in the raised position permanently - I mean, how often do you bother to unplug the coffee maker or the rice cooker? There's also the space that they need under the counter too so they fall into the desirable but impractical category for me.
