Process re Tranferring Visa to New Passport

Featured Replies

I will be getting a new passport per Australian Embassy in Bangkok in a couple of weeks. I have to do my 90 day report at Patong (Phuket) Immigration next week. Is there anything
I need to ask Thai Immigration re documents, etc for transferring the visa (conversely, do I need to ask at Oz embassy for any documentation for the visa transfer to the new book when I get my new passport)?

Any advice as to the process would be greatly appreciated.

Regards - Ping

You fill out a single page form and provide copies of old and new passport for the transfer process - they may require a letter from your embassy asking for the transfer (that you have new/replacement passport) so you could ask about that.

You should ask for a letter from the embassy asking for the extension of stay (not the visa) to be transferred to the enw passport. It is often asked for by immigration.

For the rest ake sure you have a copy with you of the old and new passport and arrival card.

OK, so I don't have to worry about Th Immig in the first instance, I can sort it all out with Oz embassy. Thanks for your help guys.

First you visit embassy but then immigration for the transfers.

Sent from my i-mobile i-note WIFI3 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Also, there is no charge for the transfers at Immigration.
