hanuman2543 Posted July 11, 2013 Share Posted July 11, 2013 I am currently staying on an extension of stay of my Non-Immigrant O, Multiple entry. The extension is based on Police Order 777, 2.2.6 ( having 2 court cases with my wife). I want to change it into an ED Visa. Can the purpose be changed here (Chiang Mai) or do I have to leave the country and apply for an ED Visa somewhere outside of Thailand? I would really prefer to change the purpose of the visa because that would be the cheapest and maybe easiest option( CM Immigration gave complete wrong info regarding the extension). If I have to leave is it the best to fly from here to Malaysia or better to go to Laos? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As long as your original entry into the country was the non-o visa you have (or had) you should be able to apply for an extension of stay based upon attending school without going out for a new visa.
