Well, with the current constitution we would be talking about 8 + 'gap' + 8 more years to make a total of 16.

The Prime Minister shall not hold office for more than eight consecutive years.

That's actually the most ironic part about it. What's an abbot doing 'wishing'--i.e. desiring--for anything for anyone? If she goes anywhere near two full terms even, expect Singapore prices minus all the glitz and efficiency of a real, working country. Way to go, bud.

I seem to recall investment in free education by the Democrats. (Hushed tones of mentioning the name of the enemy). This is as opposed to ripping the country off and leaving pay-offs for KT's supporters.

I think you're being naive to confuse bribes with a desire to lay a foundation for a 'social welfare state'. I can't honestly believe that KT was being so un-Thai as to be looking for a future for Thailand.

It seems that it didn't happen while "he" was in charge. It happened while Abhisit was in charge.

"He" is popular with the "ordinary working class voter" because they believe the crap that is fed to them.
