Minister Yukol Lim says, that everybody should try to reduce production cost as a way to shore up rubber price. So,if there is a bigger output, the price will get higher?! That is a new school of thought...And HOW to reduce production cost? Well,by asking the farmers to come up with a new technologi:Please mister minister, come here and show us how! Use a kind of machine, perhaps? Do you actually know how a rubbertree is cut? Defenitly not,or you would not have come up with this drivel! There is one way though, and that is to lower the salary to the people who are working, which would benefit the owners, but not the workers.Great ideas, sounds good, but totally out of reality!

I've got an idea.

Why dont the Government pay the rubber farmers double the worldwide price for rubber so that it increases their quality of life, stimulates the economy and the Government can then sell the extra rubber on the world markets.

I mean, where is the flaw in my logic?

Reduce production but bigger output? Something crossed here.

How does one stop a rubber tree producing?

What you crossed here is cost/production. Reduce the COST and increase the production, the latter by "new technologi" The minister fails to tell, what this "new technologi" is...For folks, who are not familiar with rubberproduction,I can tell, that the trees are cut,VERY delicately,to produce the "milk".If yuo cut too deep, the tree is wounded,if not deep enough, the tree does not produce much.Like everywhere, not one tree is exactly like the other. In conclusion, the work must be done by people with good skills. Then, about the minister`s logic: If you increase the output, you increase the price.I always thought,it is the other way round..BTW,one big cost it fertalizer,so if government want to help, start to take a look at that, especially as some rumours have it,that even government connected companies sell fake fertalizer,As I said, rumours,I can not veryfy if it is true.
