Can I just check that I can still apply in person at the embassy for a replacement British passport? What I mean is submit my application form there in person or am I now obliged to post the application to Hong Kong? I am planning to go in tomorrow and don't want a wasted journey. Thanks for your help.

Don't waste your time, it must be done through HK

Yes, the British Embassy in Bangkok hasn't been involved the application process for replacement process for a few years.

You send your application and a copy if the bio page and visa status to Hong Kong and your new passport is couriered from the UK.

You can only apply for an emergency replacement passport at the embassy in the event that yours has been lost or stolen.
