Hi gang.

I'm making a collection of silly signs - you know the sort of thing, as in the one outside a barber's shop which read "WE CUT HEADS WE CUT FACES WE CUT EVERYTHING".

But I want to try to make this specific to Samui, if it's at all possible.

I have an idea that I saw some posted here but I've had a poke about in the "images of Samui" section and can't find anything.

Most of this kind of 555 notice relates to the total whacko poor use of mis-translated English ("GIANT SPORT SHOE SELL" etc), particularly with the Thais not knowing about plural nouns. Such as the gentle classic above the urinals on the ferry - "please take your belonging with you" (hey come on, we're not all impoverished hippies).

There are a couple of deliberate ones but that's not the same. Something like "buy 2 get 1" outside a bar makes it an effort to pull your mouth up at the corners.

Any photos or simply just sending the punch lines, like above, would be great.

Hope it´s allowed since not on Samui but top floor MBK, and yes all the sign same same, funny for both dutch and english....

I have a couple of shots somewhere from the menu at Mitra, the restaurant on the left as you drive into where Pee Soon used to be.

Steamed crap, and steamed crap meat with vegetables. Will try and dig them out.

When i left the airport and entered Maenam.. Oh Samui..

There used to be a shop on the ring road between Tesco Lotus and Big C (Lotus side of the road) that advertised 'Penis Massage' in block letters in the window. It probably was intentional, I never checked.

Thinking back it might have been the same shop that ran a laundry and that dyed all my white t shirts blue because 'you gave them all together' - classy establishment!

Maenam, this spring...

Maybe i have been around Asia, and Thais especially, too long but most of these signs make sense now. Some i suspect are put up to attract the attention of the new arrivals. Always raises a smile though.

This sign on Ban Po beach is interesting.... can't say I have noticed the police being very strict about firework or hot air balloon use~ !
