Dear all,

I have applied for a schengen visa to the Netherlands I will be staying there 28 day's. I applied yesterday 16-07-2013 morning, and I found a email this morning saying

it has been processed and send. but it doesn't mention approved or denied. I know it will be in the mail within a couple off day's

but i'm verry much wanting to know if there is a way to find out if it has been approved. as I paid my ticket and my medical inssurance already.

Does anybody have experience with this please help me. there is a link on the vfs website but it say's "no such records found"

You only will know when you receive your passport by EMS if it has been approved or not.

You can try to send an email to ban-visa at minbuza.nl, but no guarantee if they reply or not.

Ps: On the website it clearly says, don't pay for the Plane Ticket , until you get the Visa.

Copy of hotel reservations for the entire trip (also other Schengen countries) and flight booking (The Embassy advises you not make any payment for hotel accommodations or flight tickets before you are granted a visa).

MJCM yes I know i should not pay for my ticket, but the agency told me I had too if I wanted the cheap price off 35000 baht for return, the inssurance is a small amount so I don't worry to much. I will try to email them, thank you again

Thank you MJCM for your quick post, I had all my documents so I wasn't really worried but seeing it processed so quickly makes me scared

My Friends wife applied at the Dutch Embassy on Wednesday (Thursday and Friday the embassy was closed) and she received her Passport (with the Visa) in the Mail on Tuesday morning.

Ps: They received an Email that the passport was sent by Courier on Tuesday but the passport had already arrived. biggrin.png

Your friend's wife (married!) maybe had former visa's, which means she had the "express" handling, I think it is called The orange carpet

By the way, under European ruling, a legally married wife of a European (Schengen) husband is elegible for a Visa for 90 days ON ARRIVAL.

I contacted the chairman of the foreign commission of the Dutch parliament about this.

He checked with the legal department of same, and indeed, it is true.

You need translated (English) and legalised Kor Ror 2 and Kor Ror 3, and if possible but not needed a document the marriage has been registered in the Netherlands

Now maybe you understand why the handling was so bloody fast?

Becasue if they refuse, you can go anyway and claim a visa on arrival.

Many rules made by the IND are surpassed by the European rules and laws.

Ask around.......

After reading your post, I asked my friend the following question

If they (the Embassy) refused your wife the Visa, would you still be going and try to claim a visa on Arrival ?

and he said (I leave out the shouting and swearing wink.png )

No .................. Way, if they refused the visa I wouldn't bother going. And if so, would the airline even let her Board the plane if she doesn't have a Visa in her Passport ????

My partner has applied for the Schengen visa 3 times through the Netherlands Embassy and the fastest was one day and the longest was two days! Gave multiple entry and beyond the time limit we asked for. On the other hand we just recently applied to the German embassy for Schengen visa and it took a week and gave a multiple entry for the exact time limit of the the travel itinerary which was 5 days. We laughed as what was the point of the multiple entry.

Have fun!

Applications for Schengen Visa's for non EU citizens made at European Embassies are usually issued while you wait (in person applications).

Through agents it takes 24 hours, so don't let the fact that it was processed so fast worry you.

As we are talking about the Netherlands I have to disagree !!

Q.3 How long does it take to get a visa?

Ans The legal processing time for a Schengen visa is 15 calendar days.

You are advised to make an appointment at least 2 weeks prior to your departure date, however, not sooner than three (3) months prior to your departure to the Netherlands. In the period March, April, May you are advised to book at least 4 weeks prior to your departure to the Netherlands in view of peak season. Once a decision is made all applicants will be contacted by an automated e-mail alert that their passports are being couriered out by EMS (Thai Post). The passports should reach the applicants within 2 to 3 working days depending on the accessibility of your correspondence address.
