Can anyone give me the name of the vegetarian restaurant run by a Thai lady who has an Aussie husband in Chiang Mai ? been around for quite awhile i believe..

I can only recommend a good restaurant -- the newish one just south of the Night Bizarre and across the street from the new KFC.

I am 90% sure you mean Taste From Heaven on Thapae. The owners are a Thai wife and a Brit husband who spent upwards of 20-30 yrs in Oz. It's just before a small soi and before a temple on your left side as you're headed towards Thapae Gate.

There is an abundance of excellent vegetarian restaurants in Chiang Mai anyway...?

Not sure if your asking or telling but I found there are enough to fill the need and my stomach but none I would consider excellent

a new organic vegetarian restaurant called Anchan opened last year in the Nimmanhaemen area

it's located down the small soi next to Hillside 2 condo on Nimmanheamin Rd, opposite Salad Concept

I highly recommend it!
