Penzman Has Computer Problems, Pls Help

Featured Replies

Help! Can you post this in the computer forum George?

/Penzman

Can't send email with Yahoo or Gmail. Can't post.

For some reason, with 3 computers at home, when we click on add post, reply , send or apply buttons, our browsers simply hang for a while and then "page can not be displayed".

We're on TOT DSL, router has been reset to factory settings twice now, my pc and laptop have same XP version, wife's work provided laptop also has same problem at home... We can surf no problem, very fast. Strange... Does anyone have any idea? Router problem or TOT has made changes and settings need be changed?

Problem happens with IE6 AND Firefox.

If you have ad blocking software (such as Admuncher), try disabling it and then try your email.

I know Admuncher interferes with Gmail.

are you saying that you wifes laptop woks fine when at work but has the problems when on your home network?

is the adsl modem you are using the one supplied by tot ? if not and you still have the tot modem try connecting a machine through it . make a new pppoe in the add new connections wizard and see what happens then.

I reckon Pensman's been banned and no one had the guts to tell him! :o:D

Everything seems fine now, I was away all day and gave it a try just now . This had been going on for over a week now. Hoping it's over. Strange problem I have never seen or heard of before, only affected the use of reply, add reply, apply or send buttons. Opening links and all other clicking was fine...

Now I can send you all chain mail again. :o

TOT ADSL

No ad -blocking software software.

Connected with either RJ-45 or wireless.

Firewalls were disabled, same same.

Wife's laptop at work was fine but here had the same problem as other 2 machines.

Not a TOT modem, we got a Belkin wireless.

I had tried new PPoEs a few times in the last week and it did nothing, I think it may have been a problem with the TOT service.

Firefox and Mozilla had same problem.

I'm suspecting it was a weird problem with TOT locally.

Get those firewalls up again quick.

HW on the router plus a good sw version on all the pc's

hi'

if only at home check the connection/adsl filters etc ...

your line is faulty if works well anywhere else.

and double check all settings of the connection in case the home settings are wrong ...
