Hi folks,

Im looking for a Thai tutor to help me with learning the Thai alphabet, basic conversation, etc. I am a total beginner. I want to go around to shops, bookstores, etc, and hand out a small flier in Thai with my mobile phone number and email saying that im looking for a Thai tutor.

Can someone translate this for me (leave the underscores/blanks/"_____" empty so I can adjust my flier as needed):

--------

"Hello, im seeking a Thai tutor in this area or within 1-2 km of Mae Jo University. I would like to meet several times per week in the afternoon or evening for one hour lessons. We can meet at my place, a coffee shop, or your house. I would prefer to meet at a house so there is less noise and I dont have to pay for coffee, etc. I am a slow learner (due to bad memory) and the tutor must have a lot of patience. The only qualifications i care about are these: you must be a nice person and smile easily, you must read basic English, you must be able to speak a little English. I will want help to practice basic conversation, proper pronounciation, and learn the Thai alphabet, etc.

I will pay tutor "_______" Thai baht per hour.

My phone: "______" My email: "_______"

--------

Okay the text between the dashes is what I need translated. If someone can help me with this id be very grateful!

Look, if one of your requirements is be able to read English, then you should obviously just write it in English....

Agreed - and dumb it down a bit as you have far too many words that even a moderate speaker of English will have difficulty understanding.

People study for years to acquire the language skills to be a good translator; that goes for Thais learning English and English speakers learning Thai alike. While I think it's appropriate to ask for help here translating a short phrase, word(s) or even a text message, you are asking for way too much for free, my friend. There are people who make their living translating; you should pay them to do this task.

Do you ask a plumber to come work on your pipes for free, or a dental hygienist to clean your teeth for free?
