This is a wonderful piece and as I'm free Wednesday I'm debating whether to go. Never heard it performed live before.

The orchestras playing are:

Siam Philharmonic Orchestra
Siam Sinfonietta
Malaysian National Symphony Orchestra

Ticket prices seem very reasonable. Does anyone have experience of performances by Siam Philharmonic? Worth going?

Good brass, good winds (mostly BSO players moonlighting), weak strings, unrehearsed pickup chorus, and conductor with good musical ideas but terrible baton technique. Don't take my word for it. Many of this groups full performances are available to watch on youtube.

I have an intense craving for Malcolm Arnold's symphonies....

Are any getting a performance at any point in Thailand...? (I admit this is not likely....)

I find playing his 7th and 3rd after listening to King Crimson gives me a serious endorphine rush.
