Tuk tuk or taxi from Mee Chok

Featured Replies

Anybody have telephone numbers to call to get into the city from Mee Chok area

I've got a number for a city based tuk tuk but thought it might be easier/quicker to get a local one

Taxi!

Cheaper and more save!

There is often tuk tuks waiting on the parking entrance to Rumchok market

There is a regular songteow line that runs into town from Mae Jo right by Mee Chok. No phone call needed, one comes by every 10 minutes or so and they are very inexpensive. Drop you at Warrorot Market, possibly other locations.

Is that the green one?

Will they let you off there?

Yes it is a green one.

Yes, like all songteows, they will let you off anywhere you request that is on their route. You tell them where you want to go before you get in, right? If so they stop there, if not then you find the button to ring the bell/buzzer requesting a stop or yell loudly and beat on the roof when you want to get out.

How much does it cost? I do not know but it can not be much because if you go all the way to Mae Joe, it is less than 20 baht.

No, they do not run regularly after dark but they do run on Sundays and holidays.

There are several shades of green songtaews; 3 that I know of. Study how to spell Mae Jo in Thai.

In Thai my ass. I have enough trouble with English. There are times no matter what I do with the word my spell checker can't find the proper spelling.

I guess songtaews are not for everybody but I have seen ingenious people who can not speak ride them by showing a note to the driver, in this case a note in Thai saying Mee Chook would do the magic.

Some things just go over some people's heads..... no matter how tall they are... or think they are.

Then there is the other side... some people think there is a deeper/higher meaning to something when there isn't.
