This arvo my wife was watching Tele and eating a packet of dried prunes.....yep you guess it....told her not to eat too many because, but she said" I like them".

Used to believe that as well. But found there were times when I would wake up alone in the morning..........

Guess because for at least 80% of western expats Thailand and it's neverending stream of minor and mayor inconveniences including annoyingly stupid wives who behave more like dominant parasites then loyal loving partners seriously got under the skin due to which they all became more or less depressed, however thinking of going 'home' depresses them even more or is simply unrealistic. Beside this the heat affects the brain makes clear thinking and searching for solutions and improvements very, very hard hence many came to a mental standstill. Therefor posting on TV and drinking beer became their main-activities and only joy and pleasure but inbetween the lines you can see that their life is far perfect.

edit: p.s. and sorry for those who are in those circumstances because many they are, seen a lot of relational mess amongst people I knew often resulting in situations that kept going downward for long time untils some answer came, wishing you all the luck you can get.
