July 31, 201312 yr Is it possible to switch an education visa to a non-o family visa at immigration office without having to leave the country? thanks
July 31, 201312 yr Try, some succeed some not. You do not change the visa, but the reason for your extension of stay. Immigration is not always happy with changes from an ED-visa, but certainly worth trying. Visit them first, also to make sure you have all the required paperwork.

July 31, 201312 yr In Vientiane or Savanakhet you should be able to get a non-O single entry with proof of marriage and child's birth certificate. (Originals) Small note from the misses asking for a visa for you can't hurt. Also take a copy of her ID-card and household registration.
July 31, 201312 yr Author I'm pretty sure I can get a non o visa easily, its getting the extension of stay thats the issue...i would rather not have to leave the country by extending the ED visa based on family...if that can be done i would go to BKK specifically to get the income letter...if not, i would go out and come back in on a non-o...but will i run into issues when extending stay?
July 31, 201312 yr Can't guarantee that, especially with a non-Ed entry. That is why I advised to visit your local immigration office first and have a talk with them.
August 1, 201312 yr is my sons(half thai) birth certificate and passport + income verification from embassy enough for non o ? You will not be getting a non-o visa at immigration you just change reason for extension of stay from going to school to one based upon having a Thai child. If you were not married to the child's mother when born you will have to legitimize his birth. In order to get the extension or even a multiple entry visa.
