"Its a regret that some people wanted to organise their movement on the street without accepting the rules of democracy, and indulge in provocative activities in order to overthrow the elected government"

Groups organising their movement on the street? Not accepting the rules of democracy? Indulging in provocative activities to overthrow the government? You know that all sounds so familiar.

Govt calling for discussions with all sides to find solution to political conflict

BANGKOK, 3 August 2013 (NNT) – The government is inviting all groups who have different views to discuss and exchange thoughts and ideas with an aim to find a solution to the political conflicts.

During the “PM Yingluck Meets the People” program, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said she has assigned Deputy Prime Minister Phongthep Thepkanjana and PM's Office Minister Varathep Ratanakorn to invite around 50-100 related agencies to the Government House to exchange views as she wants to see participation from all sides in order to find an ultimate solution to the conflicts, which will lead to a political reform of the country. However, she said it will have to be conducted upon the country’s conditions and in a way acceptable to the international community.

The Premier said she wanted to see cooperation from all sides to get the country out of this predicament. She has affirmed that the upcoming forum is not for the government to buy more time, while urging everyone to open their minds and talk. She added that the forum is not meant for the government, but for the nation as a whole.

Lastly, she said the government will only summon all related agencies, while the chairman and the committee of the meeting will have to be decided by the participants.

I suspect this is aiming to conduct meetings / discussions all deliberately spearheaded / geared / spun towards a big claim from TS YS that the

people want big changes to the constitution and /or the people want TS to be pardoned. Beware.

If there's one thing that ALL politicians really do have in common, at least in democracies, it's that they claim to speak "for the people". They rarely actually speak for more than a faction, which as often as not isn't even the majority. ('Course once we "progress" to socialism, we can do away with that flimsy pretense.)

TRANSLATION:

"C'mon everybody, let's all get along and learn to love this government, If I don't get my big brother's amnesty bill through and increase the popularity of my party, I'm going to be in huge trouble with Thaskin. Please don't hate me for all the stupid populist laws I've pushed down your throats. You people who are now too far in debt to ever recover (because of the populist laws), I only gave you what you wanted. So what if they were really bad moves that were not thought out completely by you. Beside, you really know deep down inside that all of Thailand's problems are cause by foreigners and foreign governments, so be nice to me -- I need your love."
