PATTAYA:--Just after 9.30pm on Monday Police and rescue services were called to the Teachers Residence at Nong Get Yai Temple School in East Pattaya to deal with the death of a man and woman who had both been shot through the head.

The dead pair were lying in the hallway on the second floor and were identified as Khun Manita aged 30, a teacher at the school, and her former boyfriend, Petty Officer Third Class Batan aged 38 who is stationed at Sattahip Navy Base.

Both had been shot through the head and the Petty Officer was still gripping an 11mm loaded handgun which he is thought to have used to kill the teacher before turning the gun on himself.

A friend and neighbor of the female victim explained that the pair had been together for over a year but stopped their relationship 3 months ago after Khun Manita found out that the sailor had a wife and children. Since then the Petty Officer has attempted to re-start their relationship without success.
