Hi, I'm a Thai man , 24 years old currently living in the heart of Bangkok working as a research assistance at one of the best universities in Thailand and also teaching Thai as a foreign language here for 2 years.

My aim of creating this email is to find out how I can approach to western girls in this country because it's quite hard to make friends and develop a relationship with them except I work for the tourism industry . I prefer to be with farang girls because I like talking to other people from different cultures and countries in order to have knowledge about our changing world. These can contribute me to gain a deeply profound understanding and critical knowledge about the diversity of our global society.

It will be greatly appreciated , if you guys can give me some suggestions how to find a long lasting relationship with a Western girl in Thailand .

At the risk of stereotyping the fairer sex from our shores, I suggest you give up on your academic and professional career, and go and work on a beach. In my (limited) experience foreign girls can't get their knickers off quick enough when it comes to those 'beach boys' in Thailand.

This seems more like a personal ad not an actual thread. Just join a dating forum. There are plenty of women in this world. I think that you will have a problem though. If your goal is to reach a long lasting relationship, then why limit it to an ethnicity. I say the same thing when I meet western men who want to date or marry Thai women. When I meet a girl here and she says that she wants to date foreign men, I walk away. I don't waste my time with people that are more interested in my skin color or ethnicity than me as a person.

I do find it kind of funny though that the majority of western women I meet typically date lower income men, just like foreign men. I rarely have met a foreign female that is married to someone who is her academic, economic equal. Not that it always matters, but for educated Thai men who are only lower middle-middle class, you are pretty much out of luck. Poor and Rich seem to pull a lot more.

Firstly, if you do approach Western girls in Thailand for the purposes of forming any relationships with them, how would you know whether they are just passing through on their way to somewhere else, short time tourists or living in Thailand for the long term and may already have boyfriends or husbands in tow?

My advice is; join one or a few of the hundreds of free dating sites available online and place your ad more or less using the same comments you have made in your original post. I have seen many farang women advertising on these sites. And also you may gain some results by joining social networking sites, such as; tagged.com, HI5 and the many others available and then contacting the girls directly on there after creating your profiles.

Considering you are a young man and not an old well passed your sell by date wrinkly like many of us on here, who couldn`t score with a girl for free (not even the ugly ones) if they were the last men on Earth, you should have no problems.

I lived in Samui for 6 months, and made friends with some Thai guys who were angling to get farang women off the beach in Lamai. So they were asking me for the best pickup lines to use..... As my success in using pickup lines in my history was pretty minimal, I said I did not really know any good lines. I then asked them what they had been using as pickup lines. They said they would ask the farang girl if she wanted to take a shower together..... I asked with a smile if that worked, they said yes, it worked great. So I told them to stick with that one.

Be yourself and be honest and respectful. Forget pic up lines just talk normally like friends. Don't worry about bar boy comments, they only attract low class girls,be patient.
