Thai law system

Featured Replies

5 months ago, I was accused of stealing an I phone and a laptop from some farang in his room. I have to note that I havent been in Thailand for almost 13 months. At the time he reported the theft I havent even been in the country for about 6 months. We live in the same condo and it has full video cameras that record every angle of the condo. The last time I was in the room of said farang is now over 3 years. (we used to play cards sometimes)

Another resident of the condo informed me that this farang has filed a report at the police against me and I contacted a lawyer from a very good firm in Bangkok. It took full 5 months for the case to be closed and if I would have entered Thailand within the last months I would have been arrested at the airport as my name was in the immigration and police computer.

It is ridicoulus how easy it is to give a person hell here in LOS. Even after the police was informed that I havent been in the country and after looking at the video evidence from the condo it was a long battle until my name was clean again. But I have finally won and can return to Thailand once again.

Possible that my lawyer sucked, however as far as I can tell he did all he could do.

As sad as it might sound: If you want to ruin someone just go to the police and make up a story!

Thats a pretty screwed up story, while at the same time i want to file charges against a real thief with video evidence and police refuse to do anything at all.

Thai legal system is like buying a kinder surprise, never know whats inside
