Is it impertinent to ask, if someone would translate short text EN-TH?

Featured Replies

Hi all, that is the first time I am visiting this forum and I was wondering if anyone would be so kind to translate a short text for me which I need to send to a Thai friend who can`t read any English? This would be a ONE TIME thing, I promise. My spoken Thai is embarrassing enough, I can not read and write Thai at all.

Thank you everyone.

I wish you a good night.

Well, what's the text then??

Well, what's the text then??

The mind boggles.

That one's free, OP. Only one, though (you promised tongue.png ).

Because Thais don't say such things King Rama 6 coined a few phrases to match English expressions two of which are ; อรุณสวัสดี์ good morning and ราตรีสวัสดี์ good night.

So you could say ราตรีสวัสดี์ Radtrisawat

Or you could say หลับฝันดี lapfandee sweet dreams .

If that was supposed to be the text to translate, then I agree that there's no such phrase in Thai "ขอให้คุณมีคืนทีดี"

You either say ราตรีสวัสดี์ if you want to be a bit formal, or นอนหลับฝันดี for more personal.

Also,

Thank you everyone

can be:

Formal: ขอบคุณทุกท่าน

Neutral: ขอบคุณทุกคน

Personal: ขอบใจทุกคน

I needed to sms something to a good friend and I needed to send it quick, so I managed that my Thai neighbor translated and sent the text in Thai, on my behalf......wai.gif

Once again, thank you very much for your kindness and helping me out with this. I needed a quick translation that night and since I saw a few members still online, I thought to give it a try. The text was another; 'Thank you everyone', was meant to thank the forum members. wai.gif

wow, most annoying thread ever

Is this that TV problem where the same post gets submitted multiple times?
