simonbkk
Hi everyone. Bit of an unusual one here. My Thai partner and I will be in Hanoi in October to complete our Civil Partnership at the UK Embassy. We need two witnesses to be there with us and it seems too far to invite friends and family from Thailand for a brief signing (there is no ceremony for a CP!) We were wondering if there are a couple of guys travelling already to Hanoi, who could come and do this for us, date to be confirmed. We would buy you some beers as a thank you for your time. What do you think? Let me know if you think you can help us out. Cheers.
ToddWeston
Wish I could help, but no plans on the journey to Hanoi. Congrats on your nuptials.
LeCharivari
The Embassy may be able to help you out - the High Commission in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) took it for granted that we would need witnesses so had it all arranged, including someone to take photos and to do the calligraphy on the certificate, but that was a few years ago when it was a bit of a novelty. I'd suggest asking them when you go there to first register, as they may be more approachable face-to face than in e-mails when they are committing themselves publicly.
