MichaelJohn
Been going to Spasso on and off for 13 years but never seen E tax on their bill before - Googling the issue came up with a Thai Visa forum from a few years ago when they obvioulsy tried it before. Spasso has always been expensive but they now chose to add 3 taxes to the displayed drinks prices, 10% service, 12% E Tax and 7% VAT. Nowhere else I've ever seen in Thailand adds E Tax; it's just a hidden way of depressing the menu prices. Just wanted to warn everyone that this hidden tax makes a big difference to the bill; a displayed price of 300B actually costs nearer 425B; a 40% increase over the published prices! I'm used to the ++ pricing in many hotels etc but this is exceptional and I believe underhand; I guess the small print would have said it somewhere. I certainly won't be frequenting the establishment again! PS. The bands are never great but the one at the moment has to be one of the worst I've ever heard!
