Hi and thanks for any advice,

I am married to a Thai national and we have 2 kids. We also just recently purchased a house. I don't have a job and due to the house purchase I am short on the 400000 baht required. My visa expires on the 26th of this month and I have an appointment on the 28th to get my yellow book (if that matters). My wife makes just shy of 40000 baht a month so that option is out. I would be going to penang to get a visa as I live in the south.

What visa options do I have as I am on my second tourist visa and worry I won't get another.

Thanks again

You can't get a 1 year extension of stay, but you can get a 60 day extension of stay from immigration.

In Savanakhet, Laos, you can apply for a multiple entry non-immirgant visa based on your marriage without the need of showing financials. (But with correct paperwork)

Kuala Lumphur will want to see 400,000 in a bank account in Thailand in your name to issue.

(The income of your wife is irrelevent. It must be your income or the 400,000 in the bank must be in your name only for immirgation to issue a 1 year extension of stay).

Edited: 100,000 changed to 400,000 as wanted by KL for a multiple non-O.

Go to immigration and get a 60 day extension to visit your spouse.

Even if your wife was earning 40k a month, that wouldn't help you. Income has to be yours.

Why not get a single entry O Visa? That would give you 90 days.

Multiple entry O's are still available in Laos, I believe.
