Official translators

Featured Replies

Hi Folks ,

Can anyone tell me if there are official translators in Chang Mai that are recognised by the Thai authorities as I have some personal legal business to tend to in Chang Mai and really don't fancy

going to and throw to BKK for translators

Many thanks for any info

Star Visa Service does official translating (complete with stamped certification) for a reasonable price. Their location is near the U S Consulate. http://goo.gl/maps/JMCED

Thanks MrBrad, I know where they are as my wife went there to get her visa for Australia but I did not realize they did translations as well.

there is no such thing as an 'official' translator in Thailand. Any one can buy their own stamp pad and put official translator on it.

It depends on the reason for the translation. Sometimes you need a translation that will be accepted by the Ministry of Interior.

Yes , That's the sort of thing I am talking about - something that is recognised by the Thai authorities /Ministries etc , BTW is there a Thai ministry of foreign affairs in Chang Mai ?

Don't know. There's a translation office (Star ?) near the entrance to the US consulate. They have been recommended on here before and should be able to answer your questions about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A few years ago my affirmation to marry had to go to Bangkok.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs : Yes there is a "Branch" at the Chiang Mai Administration Campus.

Official accept translator accepted by MoFA, address is attached, not far from the MOFA Branch.
