We can't watch it here without a VPN, I've seen her a couple of times, she's the worst journalistic presenter I've ever seen. Her performance on the Sea Gypsy doco in Phuket was atrocious. On the other hand although her style was awful, she did a good show about Islamic extremists in Luton.

My aunt contacted me and told me about this programme, she said it was tragic to see so many users.

I started watching but couldn't continue with that awful presenter. Has the BBC sunk to such depths they have to have employ badly spoken reality trash like that.

Thailand and Cambodia seem to have become her pet subjects of choice.

This is probably due to the amount of misinformation there already is in the public media about both countries that when she creates even more, no-one really notices any more.

I am on holiday in The UK at the moment, so decided to watch this.

It was awful, turgid, incompetent and factually incorrect. Stacy Dooley is as thick as pig shit, and did no real digging around. Whatever her agenda is, what came of it, was that she is boodly useless and a waste of tax payers money and the documentary didn't make any real points - other that "drugs are bad m'kay". The bit where she was trying to find a British prisoner was cringeworthy.

If anyone has spare 50 minutes, and wants to see how not to make a documantary, this would be a good example.

Stacey Dooley = awful TV, not worth watching, a useless overpaid person that the BBC seem to employ plenty of..sack her and sack whoever employed her in the first place....

I watched it until she said 'new drug'. Been around for more than the 20 years I've lived here at which time it was called 'yah mah'. Perhaps the newer name confused her. biggrin.png

Saw it the other night. If you're going to do a program about something at least learn to say it properly. The classroom scene where the teacher thinks she is saying the English word for it and the presenter thinks she is saying the Thai word for it is hilarious.

This girl is so thick it's beyond belief.

I have recorded this but not yet had time to watch it, from every ones description I assume this is the same silly girl who thought she was going to see the pm in one of her other ill informed docos?

Yes, same girl.

She puts on this kind of fakey heartbroken, condescending voice when she speaks to everyone

Being married to a Thai & living in the UK I would not make any claims to being an expert on Thailand, but even I could spot a great degree of ignorance on Thai matters

Yeah, sad to see so many users and it's been a big problem in Thailand for years, the crazy drug, maybe it's about time the Thai Government woke up and thought about WHY are so many people taking it, I'd be asking the question ?, are they taking it to escape from the reality of the sad cheap life that many lead, a way to escape from the reality of life...

Oh god.....Stacy Dooley again!

Useless and ill-informed.....an insult to real journalists and an embarrassment to the BBC!

Just watched this one (nearly as bad as the last Thai "documentary" one she did!

I love the line in the last one she did, she says "I am going to put this to the Prime Minister of Thailand about the plight of Sea Gypsies and I will get some answers"........oh yeah, I can see Abhisit (at the time) dropping everything! So funny, she ended up being fobbed off by some menial! cheesy.gif

Hopefully, after this one the Thai's will tell her to "get lost" and like she mentioned outside the prison/police station, they won't let her in again!

I liked the fact also, she came half way round the world to do a documentary on yabba and it was only half way through she actually looked up what yabba actually was and the effects of it! rolleyes.gif

Where can I watch it?

On BBC iplayer but you need a VPN,it's not up on YouTube yet so I can't help any further .

Or install the addon Hola. After installing then need to install the iPlayer (BBC) script which you can find by Googling.

Its on Dailymotion site also.

I watched it last night - shes a bit easier on the eye than last time I watched her awful show - it was dire to say the least.

Yes, agree totally dire, poorly researched and hugely over acted. All my wife said was OVERR....

Why not instead explain in Thailand there are significantly more practising Buddhists than there are similar persons in the UK with a culture build on respect and strong family values; but there is an ignorant proportion like this flushed faced presenter with a perception or more likely maybe of a desire, that there are drug crazed hedonistic tendencies in Thai culture waiting to break out at any moment.
