I had a little trouble finding cornstarch here in Bangkok but I did find it at Villa Market, but I don't remember seeing potato starch there, but I wasn't looking for it. A common substitute for potato starch is cornstarch. Other replacements are tapioca flour, soy flour, cornmeal, corn flour, brown rice flour, kamut and spelt flour. Good luck.

Also you can make it yourself by

1. Line a colander with two layers of cheesecloth, and place the colander over the bowl. 2. Grate the potato with the smallest set of holes on your grater into the cheesecloth

Hey Balo, you can find potato starch on offer in Bangkok at Foodland Supermarket, Soi 5. You will find it in the same area as the wheat flour, baking soda, and other baking needs. For the sake of clarity....this area of the store is not the same area where sugar or salt are sold, but rather the potato starch is located near the frozen food case.

I hope that helps......and I hope you make and enjoy a delicious Norwegian rhubarb soup!

CHEERS!

Thanks I will look for it in CW.

In my home country we only use potato starch , but corn starch will probably give the same result. wink.png .
