It is an unfortunate fact of life that accidents do occasionally happen.

Unless there is something which the police have kept out of the OP, why put the wife and daughter through an ordeal based on a story title loaded with speculation?

aah, cannot wait to read all the wild west stories again about how they have killed him.. and it happens mostly there in pattaya where no one ever dies naturally... but maybe 80% of the western men there are retired, older and so also suffer more from poor health. that together with probebly some beers and late nights will cause a hearth to stop sometimes. not everyone gets killed...

I've often wondered why showers/baths in Thailand are rarely equipped with a slip-proof mat, yet often have very smooth tiles.

I'm under 60 and still quite agile, but I got a rubber mat for the shower in my condo the day I moved in. The smooth tiles on my balcony also make it a potential death-trap when it rains though of course it is easy enough to avoid walking on them in the wet.

"left wrist which BIB " THINK" was a result of a fall"

It seems totally reasonable for the police to make an initial assessment based on the visible evidence. You can't expect a policeman to perform an autopsy at the home of the deceased. A medical report following an autopsy isn't going to be instantly available even on CSI or Bones or whatever the source of police procedural expertise ThaiVisa cynics base their speculative comments on.

I sure hope when I die that PattayaOne doesn't get anywhere near my home and if some report is made then I hope it doesn't appear on TV as a source of entertainment for the pundits here. At least if you die in the supposed privacy of your home it shouldn't be turned into a media circus.

sorry Suradit69 I disagree with you, the police should not give an opinion at all as they don't know, they get called to an incident and then go from there they should not "say" what they think until they get the doctors report

Death from such a short fall..??

I am 67 and a few weeks back, I missed the third step from the bottom on the stairs. I fell, was not bruised, or any aches or pains - surprised the family though...LOL

Death from such a short fall..??

Absolutely. Slip on wet tiles in the shower or on a rain-soaked balcony, hit your head on the floor or wall on the way down, knock yourself out for even a relatively short while and you could easily die from blood loss if you have cut yourself or even hypothermia if the shower water is unheated or you are lying in the rain.

It happens surprisingly often to older people.
