The Bump Under the Rug File

Couple of the Bumps

What became of the bailed out music scammers arrested about 6 mos ago in Chiang Mai?????.

Any updates??? Looks like they did a Thaksin

The monk of the month seems to have been swept under the rug . He was in France, then in his Calfi Beach House, then supposedly in Lao and coming back reported almost daily. Now nothing..... and certainly no 300 million....last I read was that DNA confirmed he is the father of the young boy mentioned.

Any Updates???

Yes - the pattern: Sensationalistic Headlines, a few days of gossiping/speculations, then, weeks/months pass by and no follow-up whatsoever.

This is not an update but a report on the monk of the month in an international newspaper. I found it an interesting read.

Thanks for that nivram4491.

Probably the most complete and detailed report on the ex monks adventures that I have seen or heard about.

There is no bump under the rug.

The next off budget purchase sanctioned by the cabinet will be a carpet nearly the size of Mt Everest to cover the multitude of humps and bumps across the country and even THAT may not be big enough to cover all the rotten rice.

Thank you for the report it was the most comprehensive one I have seen yet.

The Sydney Morning Herald, my paper of choice for many years, does some excellent reporting. We might wonder why certain Thai print media couldn't follow suit.

It could appear that the 4-5 day old report on the police who kidnapped and held for ransom the 2 Italians, has been used to make another bump under the rug.

Bad for tourism, you know the story...... also quite negative opinion on the thinking capacity of the police involved.... letting them call back home and speak a language that none of them understood.... They sound like detective material to me... maybe even senior officers in the making...... Probably will be promoted to high level in the police academy

1. Because they are not allowed to.

2. Because they have no desire to do so.

I read yesterday that the Police involved have been 'suspended'; which most probably means go home and forget about it and come back to work next month when it's all forgotten.

Don't know if this qualifies as a bump or hundreds of bumps.

In yesterdays newspaper it was reported that the " gov't " has found 12 more resorts that are built on National Park lands.

It also states that 434 resorts have been charged with encroachment. 50 resorts have been approved to be demolished and of these 27 have been demolished.

Now the question ...... can anyone tell us what the penalty was for placing these resorts on Park Land and who were the owners..... ?????

and whatever happened to Steve Malone's ex-wife (Jasmine Happy Park Homes) who had her previous (not Steve) husband murdered?

A friend of mine visited her in jail a few months ago, but i heard (rumor) over the weekend.. that she has been let out of jail... no trial.

Given the amounts of money involved, i guess that is not unusual.

sufficient money=insufficient evidence

That would depend largely on how much money they are willing to pay for the job.whistling.gif

I hope that's a rhetorical question Gonzo as I am sure you do not really expect an 'honest' answer from any powers that be.

The 384 not yet approved for demolition would be the most interesting.

Does his wife still run the deli?? Must be some TV'ers who stop by there and would be able to give us an update.

He was convicted by way of a plea bargain and is doing his time in C.M. men's correctional facility. I have talked with a guy who has visited him on 1 or 2 occasions. It is not entirely clear how much time he will have to serve before he is released and then immediately deported.

if at the end of it all, it truly works out this way for Bob, he should count himself among the very lucky.
