EQ San
"No mafia in Pattaya, because we can't decently accept any completion !" Their way to communicate and to use medias tells the whole story.. Looks like they don't even care if they are believed by population or not. They advertise to masturbate their own ego.. Which is enough finally. If being ridiculous would be harmful they would all have pasted away longtime ago.
klauskunkel
I think they always show the same stuff for all their big declarations. It's in the PR locker at HQ since years, labeled "Stuff for Big Declarations". Quite cheeky.

bangkokpoppys
thank god they got those sex toys off the street... I was really beginning to worry...I'm with you. Glad to hear that they have eliminated the drugs and sex toys. I have always had a real phobia about some drug crazed lunatic unexpectedly jumping out of a bush and ramming a vibrator up my rear orifice. Now for the real issues, jet skis, tuk tuks and the other array of scams. ginjag
Does this remind you of most cabinet declarations every day ???? to me it's from the same script. I think there is a book printed with all promises and any top official has access to it. After 30+ years Pattaya has grown along with Jomptien BUT the corruption has trebled the size of growth, city politicians and business are mostly in on the act. One of the biggest scams - city officials ALLOW condo's to be built right in front of existing ones, no prior notice to owners, start work nothing said, no compo, all owners complaints go in the bin. The most sad thing is the value of the condo is 25% lower. This is only 1 out of a thousand I could mention. I happen to be one of those condo owners. The big shot lives in luxury in BKK, but still expects his yearly dues for upkeep . Walking on the shops side of beach road is nearly a no no, obstuctions, wires posts and most of all stalls selling on the path, tourists having to walk on the road. Who owns all the motor bikes parked the whole length of beach road ???? no way anyone can park. One thing at Jomptien all the beach road has parking space, Brilliant. Pattaya wake up and prioritize first ,NOT THIS --BU-S##T

indyuk
There is little or no serious crime resident that is based in Pattaya. There is however plenty of petty crime mostly permitted (orchestrated) by the BIB that does not affect we foreigners unless we either commit it ourselves or go looking for it. The issues of most concern for those of us that live here are accidents and draconian police responses toward traffic and crowd control during Pattaya's many festivals and commercial events. shaurene
The headline should have read..... "We are still the only mafia in Pattaya - declaration by Police General." I had a building with 9 rooms to rent out with my Thai wife, a Thai guy called around in the morning to ask about a room I took him up to our room on the 3rd floor and showed him the room opposite ours, he asked how much and I said my wife is in the shower and will be out in a minute but he pushed me for a price I said am not sure but I think 2000 month, my wife came out and spoke to him and he left, within 30 minutes 3 vans and 12 immigration police were here and took me in for working, after talking with the top guy we went to immigration in Jomtiem and 20000 paid it off in his pocket, so what they need to do is sort their shit out. Is there a level of intelligence that if you get above it you are not allowed to hold a position in the police force. If so is it one with two digits in it and the first one is a
