Help Wanted Deceased American Vietnem Vet.

I was wondering whether American Army vets on the forum (of which there are many) can help me. I am trying to help the Thai wife of an American ex serviceman friend of mine who unfortunately died suddenly recently. Regrettably he left his affairs in disarray. His wife cannot find any papers relating to his service, discharge papers etc. All I have been able to ascertain is that he served in the 9th Logistical Command in Khorat from 1965 to 1968. His wife has no idea as to whether he was receiving any benefits for his service.

Can anybody advise me as to whom I can contact to ascertain whether his widow may be entitled to any benefits at all? The American Embassy in Bangkok has been informed of his demise. I have his social security number and am in the process of getting his death certificate. Any advice or suggestions much appreciated, especially as I'm not American.

If your friend was a retired service member the RAO (retired activities office) at JUSMAGTHAI could help they are located on Sathorn Road near soi 1. They have a person their that handles such things for wives of decease soldiers. http://www.jusmagthai.com/rao.html

Took a bit of digging on that website, which is very good.
